Le ministère de la Justice du Québec has entrusted a theatrical production agency to set up a play in order to inform and train the 12 and 13 years old student audience on the new Youth Criminal Justice Act's challenges. As a support piece, the department, which had originally planned to deliver a leaflet, rather decided to ask Nexun Media to develop an interactive ibrid® CD-ROM.

This medium allowed young people to engage in a role playing game simulating the consequences of a crime and to fill out an online tool assessment survey, in addition to participating in an online contest for a chance to win an MP3 player.

During 2005 and 2006, the play entitled "LAW: the game where you only have one life" was presented in a hundred francophone high schools and thirty anglophone high schools throughout Quebec; more than 43 000 interactive CD-ROMs were given at the play representations.

In March 2005, the Leger Marketing research firm conducted an online survey nested into an ibrid® CD-ROM to 533 Level I and II students, revealing that 91% of respondents liked the concept of the CD-ROM.

Moreover, since it was an ibrid® CD-ROM, we were able to analyze its usage the same way as a website. From that analysis, we’ve learned that on average, 80% of users have engaged in the role playing game, and among them, 54% participated in the contest – even if to gain access to that contest, users had to complete and go through a survey.

Note also that in June 2006 this ibrid® CD-ROM won the multimedia category's Excellence Award in the “Prix Zenith” contest which emphasizes the quality of the tools developed by the 800 government communicators of Quebec.
